Welcome to the ATC Ladder. The challenge ladder is a great way to keep track of our current league standings.
Ladder results are used for Texas Cup Team selection (top 24 players for singles) , ATC tournament seedings, end of year awards, and Friday night social lineups.

Ladder Rules

  • A player may only challenge up to 5 levels above him or her.
  • A player is only obligated to play 1 challenge match per week. A player receiving multiple challenges in a short time period should play the challenges in the order received.
  • If a player is not on the ladder, he or she must become a member of ATC and may initially challenge anyone. If the player loses the challenge, he or she will be put on the bottom of the ladder.
  • If a player wins his or her challenge, he or she takes the place of the beaten player, and the beaten player moves down one spot.
  • If a player is injured, he or she must alert the Competitive Tennis Director ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) to become inactive. This protects the injured player from being challenged, but he or she is not protected from moving down in the event that someone in front of him or her is challenged and loses. An injured person on the ladder does not factor into the rule: “Players can only challenge people up to 5 levels above them.” A player on the injured list is omitted from the 5 level count.
  • The challenging players must bring tennis balls.
  • A challenged player must respond in a timely (within a week) manner. Challengers are also encouraged to phone their opponent if they get no response to emails. If a player does not respond to phone or emails, he or she will forfeit the match. On the last email, the challenging player should copy ATC on the email. • Players are expected to be courteous and reasonable in all aspects of challenge matches, including scheduling and court behavior.
  • There will be NO open ladder prior to Texas Cup. The Ladder will be closed down one month prior to Texas Cup. Players who wait until the last minute to challenge in order to play at Texas Cup will find that they can not get their match scheduled in time. Be proactive and schedule your matches early.
  • After the challenge is complete, the winner should report the win to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
